Marsden to Edale, Approx 20 miles and 4500ft of running, Mid winter, all in aid of Woodhead Mountain Rescue TeamTaking in the 3 trigs of Blackhill, Shelf Moor, and Kinder West this is a true test of the fell runners ability to navigate over truely rough ground in harsh conditions. Already it is become a classic winter event.

The race is run by  fellrunners Nicky Spinks and Steve Burgess  with  co-organisors Amanda and Andy Heading of RaceKit

Now only days away, preperation is just about over for most.  The recceing is done and we all wait for the off.

The weather is already looking harsher than last year’s frozen bogs and clear blue skies. The excessive rain and warm temperatures have stopped the bogs freezing over and the dams put in place to hold the water on kinder have done there job. The forecast is for colder weather with a threat of snow and low clouds which should create even more testing times for the runners. An up to date forecast is available form MWIS . Remember to come fully prepared for all eventualities.

Don’t forget there is a new registration point this year at Marsden Cricket Club which has plenty of indoor area and lots of toilets!!

Hot food will once again be provided by Pete from Bank View Cafe

Last years winner Oli Johnson and Ladies Champion Heather Marshall are defending their titles against a very high caliber field of around 200 runners. Full entry list here

Last year the Trigger raised £2502 for Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team and this year they hope to better that.
